Barcelona Trip 2018

Barcelona is a vibrant city of culture, Gaudi, art, food and much more. The hostel was quirky, cool and very hipster. Students ventured into Parc Guell and Sagrada Familia where art students captured the beauty of Gaudi’s architectural genius and beauty through photography. We visited the Boqueria food market where students could see and sample the best of Catalan cuisine. There where excursions to Barceloneta beach and Montjuic where we spent time in the old Olympic open air swimming pool which had stunning panoramic views of the city. Students enjoyed a variety of food in an array of restaurants with one of the highlights being a tapas and paella meal accompanied with an impromptu Spanish guitar performance from the owner, Paco. On the last day we had lunch in a lavish roof top terrace restaurant and there was time for souvenier shopping in the Barri Gotic. We even had time for a Flamenco show in Placa Real which was moving, loud and mesmerising. The students were fantastic and it was an absolute pleasure for all staff to see how much they enjoyed themselves. Barcelona is a place that other Pittville students will return to again.
