Literacy and Numeracy
Literacy and numeracy are an important part of pupils' learning at Pittville. Literacy and numeracy at home also has a vital role to play. We have put together some resources to help your child with vital literacy and numeracy skills.
Firstly, have a look at the subject specific reading lists for some fantastic ideas of books for your child to read. Maybe your child prefers to listen to audiobooks, there are some fantastic links to places where you can listen to books online - for free.
Have a look with your child at the punctuation booklet - work with them to do some writing practise. Or you could have a look at the external websites list if you want to direct your child to some great websites where you will find games and activities - or find out information about literacy for yourself.
If you have any other questions about Literacy at Pittville then please call or email the school and ask for Miss Mills.
Did you know that to be fluent with your times tables you only need to learn 21 facts beyond the 2, 5 and 10 times tables? Please see the link to the 21 facts to find out what these extra 21 facts are.
Have a look at the external websites list for some ideas of fun games and activities to reinforce numeracy skills.
If you have any other questions about numeracy at Pittville then please call or email the school and ask for Mrs Platt.
