Y9 Options Pathway

Whilst utilising the best teaching and learning strategies, we aim to develop the individual student to a high level of competence in all subject areas. The Key Stage 3 curriculum aims for students to enjoy learning and develop the attitudes, understanding, skills and confidence to thrive in a changing world. Our Key Stage 3 curriculum is taught in subject areas and the overview of what is taught in each subject can be seen here.

The transition process begins during Year 6 at primary school. Its focus is to ensure that all students begin Year 7 both ready and happy to learn. There is more independence at secondary school and the role of the form tutor is paramount in supporting students in getting to grips with new systems and expectations.

While our students are in Year 9, they will select the subjects they will study at GCSE Level, which, in turn, will inform decisions for their post-16 education.
